The central bank said Indonesia 's economy grew by 5.7 percent in the first quarter this year partly because of better risk perception.

"Economic growth in the first quarter reached 5.7 percent with a controllable inflation rate," Bank Indonesia (BI) Deputy Governor Budi Rochadi said Wednesday in the 2010 Asia-Pacific Conference and Exhibition.

He said the supporting factors were better economic conditions and better risk perception.

BI estimates the economy to expand between 5.5 percent and 6 percent this year
