THE ANGLO INDONESIAN SOCIETY

The Anglo-Indonesian Society was formed in 1965 as a non-political, cultural and social society. It has about 350 members of which a third are Indonesian. Its members include Indonesian diplomats, British people who have worked in Indonesia, academics, tourists and an increasing number of students. The Society's normal meeting are free and are held in the Indonesian Embassy and are extremely informal both in content and dress. A short talk with a free bar before and after. These meetings happen about eight times a year and then there are occasional special events which usually have to be charged for. With the exception of events which have to be charged for, you are welcome just to turn up.

PERHIMPUNAN INDONESIA-INGGERIS

Perhimpunan Indonesia-Inggeris (Anglo-Indonesian Society) didirikan pada tahun 1965 sebagai suatu forum budaya, sosial dan non-politik. Perhimpunan ini terdiri dari sekitar 350 anggota, umumnya adalah orang Inggris, baik mantan diplomat dan orang yang pernah bertugas di Indonesia, maupun pelajar, akademik, dan turis yang saling berminat terhadap Indonesia. Sekitar sepertiga diantaranya adalah orang Indonesia dan diplomat Indonesia. Pertemuan diadakan 8 (delapan) kali pertahun di KERI London, disertai sebuah ceramah dan disediakan makanan-ringan dan minuman. Pertemuan seperti ini bebas biaya, dan masyarakat yang mempunyai minat mengenai Indonesia dipersilakan untuk hadir. Kami sekali-sekali mengumumkan program khusus yang pesertanya akan dikenai biaya melalui penjualan tiket terlebih dahulu.
