The purpose of this forum:
- To become a medium in conducting dialogue and interaction between Muslim leaders in the East and the West, in this case, represented by Indonesia and the UK.
- To endorse dialogue efforts and cooperation among societies of the East and West in order to increase the level of understanding, as well as to enhance cooperation, harmony, and sense of brotherhood through education training and exchange programs of youngsters, religious leaders, academics, and journalists.
The main principal of this forum:
- To develop constructive dialogue among groups of civilizations;
- To augment the sense of understanding, respect, and brotherhood;
- To eliminate stigmatization of religions and/or any attribution of terrorism to a certain religion;
- To endorse peace, security, and social welfare;
- To build principles of global coexistence;
- To empower the moderates (ummatan wasatan) in order to bridge various differences and construct harmony between groups of civilizations;
- To invite other countries, government as well as private institutions at national and international level to foster robust partnership to mobilize a variety of resources and funds so as to empower the moderates.
At the final analysis, Indonesia-UK Advisory Group is to generate policy recommendations concerning strategic matters which need to be managed by Indonesia as well as the UK in order to promote tolerance and raise sense of understanding.
