6th Meeting of the ASEAN London Committee 18 August 2009
The 6th Meeting of the ASEAN London Committee (ALC), which was hosted by the Embassy of Thailand, was held in Buckinghamshire Golf Club, Buckinghamshire, UK. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Yuri O. Thamrin, and by representatives of other ASEAN countries in London; which are Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The ALC Meeting was held as a forum to enhance cooperation between representatives of ASEAN countries in London as well as to nurture closer relationship with representatives from partner countries of the ASEAN in London.
During the meeting, the participants discussed several issues of common concerns and ALC’s activities for the remaining period of 2009. On this occasion, the Ambassador of Indonesia gave a briefing on the preparations leading up to the G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh.
The ALC Meeting was followed by a Golf Tournament in celebration of the anniversary of ASEAN Day 2009. In addition to the ASEAN member countries, the representative of South Korea as a member of the ASEAN+3 also took part in the Tournament. The Tournament was won by the representative of Malaysia.
