Reception Spring Gathering in Promotion of Visit Indonesia Year 2008

To celebrate Visit Indonesia Year 2008, and as a part of the Embassy’s program to promote Indonesia tourism potentials to the UK market, on 15 April 2008, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in cooperation with Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) UK Chapter, has held a reception “Spring Gathering in the Promotion of Visit Indonesia Year 2008”.

The reception was opened by a welcoming remarks and short presentation by Charge d’affaires ad interim, Mr. Dewa Made J.Sastrawan followed by remarks by Chairman of PATA UK, Mr. Tom Nutley.
 
The reception was attended by Executive Director PATA UK Chapter Mr. Ian Hawkes and approximately 50 invitees from travel industry sector of the UK as well as some of the regions suppliers and operators, such as (i) Malaysia Airlines; (ii) Oberoi Hotels and Resorts (Bali dan Lombok); (iii) Nirwana Gardens Resort, Bintan; (iv) GHM Resorts, (Chedi Club, Bali); (v) Silverbird Travel (UK Tour Operator); (vi) Travelpack (UK Tour Operator).

During the reception, Charge d’Affaires ad interim has also invited the audience to attend “The 1st Indonesia Expo in Central and East Europe” (IE-CEE) to be held in Warsaw, Poland on 7-10 May 2008. The reception was concluded with networking session and “kecapi suling” performance by Maulana M. Syuhada and Simon Cook. (TH/RC)
