In order to promote the “Visit Indonesia Year 2008” programme, a delegation from Indonesia --- comprises of several distinguished members of the House of Representatives and Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia --- visited some Indonesian Missions abroad, including the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in London . Their mission was to, inter alia, deepen the Indonesian Mission staff member’s knowledge of the Visit Indonesia Year 2008 programme, identify particular backgrounds of tourists and introduce effective strategies for increasing the number of tourists going to Indonesia , as well as to gain useful insights and recommendations from respective Indonesian Missions.

In this regard, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia held a meeting on 23 June 2008 to support their mission. The meeting was convened in Crutacala Room, at the Indonesian Embassy, and attended by not only staff members of the Embassy but also Indonesian people living in the United Kingdom . The discussion between members of the delegation and participants went on for more than three hours and was followed by a luncheon soon afterwards. The delegation then proceed to France , the Netherlands , and Singapore to carry out their mission.
