The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Presented His Letter of Credence

to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

On Thursday, 9 March 2006, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Kingdom, H.E. Dr. R.M Marty M. Natalegawa presented his Letter of Credence to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The ceremony took place at the Buckingham Palace in London, to which the Ambassador was escorted by Sir Anthony Figgis, Her Majesty's Marshal of Diplomatic Corps, in a horse-drawn palace carriage. In the Grand Hall, the Ambassador was greeted by a senior official of the Foreign Commonwealth Office, before proceeding to the presentation of credentials in the Palace.

The occasion provided an opportunity for the reiteration of the friendly ties existing between the peoples and governments of the two countries.  

During the credentials ceremony Ambassador Natalegawa was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Sranya B Natalegawa, and members of the Indonesian Embassy staffs.

To mark the credentials presentation, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in London held a Vin d'Honneur reception which was attended by British government officials, from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Diplomatic Corps in London, business and mass media representatives, as well as members of the Indonesian Community in the United Kingdom.
