The Scheduled Visit of British Prime Minister Tony Blair to Indonesia

The Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Yuri O. Thamrin, announced that PM Tony Blair planned to visit Indonesia from the 29th –30th March 2006.

During the press briefing at the Indonesian Foreign Ministry on Friday 24th March, Mr. Thamrin explained that the British Prime Minister would hold a bilateral meeting with the President in the context of promoting investment and other concrete economic issues.

Aside from this, a meeting would be organised between religious representatives (interfaith dialogue), also to discuss developments in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Aceh, the planned formation of the RI-UK Partnership Forum, RI-UK Islamic Advisory Group etc., including cooperation in security, cooperation on the level of policing and efforts to lower poverty levels in Indonesia.
